Aboriginal Programs & Services
at School District No. 46 (Sunshine Coast)
Members of the broader community and the community of Aboriginal people on the Sunshine Coast, including people of First Nations, Metis and Inuit ancestry, participate with educational staff in the district to create positive, ongoing relationships so that learners have a sense of connection to the Aboriginal community.
There are two collaborative structures providing specific support for Aboriginal students in School District No. 46:
• The District Aboriginal Education Support Program (serving all students of self-declared Aboriginal ancestry) Click here
• The Sechelt Indian Band Education Department (including the she shashishalhem Language and Culture program as well as
cultural advising/support pertaining to shishalh students. Click here
